1.       A Year at the Helm of the United Nations General Assembly by Abdulaziz Al-Nasser

Ambassador Nasser Abdulaziz Al-Nasser of Qatar presided over the 66th session of the “world’s parliament” – the United Nations General Assembly – at a critical moment in international affairs – from September 2011 to September 2012. He decided to record his experiences in this book, entitled A Year at the Helm of the General Assembly, which was launched this past October.

In this fascinating book, Al-Nasser chronicles the events of a dynamic year for the UN General Assembly, as it responds to a range of global challenges from the world financial crisis to the Arab Spring. He recounts other dramatic moments, such as replacing the Libyan delegation, and a tireless schedule of overseas travel, including joint visits with the Secretary-General Ban-Ki Moon to Libya and Somalia.

Al-Nasser launched the book in the company of friends, diplomats, UN officials, and journalists. At the event, Al-Nasser re-affirmed his commitment to promoting a culture of peace, tolerance, and dialogue, an issue that he took to his heart as President of the 66th Session of the General Assembly and continues to uphold in his role as High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations. He stressed that he is determined to advance the noble goals of the Alliance to preserve international peace and security and promote tolerance and moderation, particularly against the backdrop of the rising forces of radicalism.

Ambassador Nasser Abdulaziz Al-Nasser’s book, A Year at the Helm of the General Assembly, serves asa unique resource for those interested in knowing more about the world’s most representative body at a crucial moment in recent history.

2.       Sugar Savvy – The 6-Week Solution to Kicking Your Sugar Addiction for Life by High Voltage

Health and fitness pioneer High Voltage (aka Kathie Dolgin), who created the groundbreaking Energy Up! Program, is back with Sugar Savvy – a fun and empowering 6-week program to get your weight down and energy levels up.

Many of us lead such busy lifestyles. We need to feel good and have the energy for all the activities we love. But the foods we count on to get us there actually make us feel worse – and can lead to obesity, heart disease, diabetes, wrinkles, and even cancer.

In Sugar Savvy, High Voltage says it’s time to stop this and take control of your health and happiness. High Voltage’s solution is more than a diet; Sugar Savvy an eye-opening, confidence-building, life-affirming program that will empower you from the top down and inside out.

High Voltage demonstrates just how addictive sugar really is, saying it triggers the same reward receptors as a cascade of feel-good brain chemicals like serotonin and dopamine as cocaine. Science shows that when we overload on sugar our brain receptors actually change, making it hard to regulate how much we eat. And when you’re shaky, irritable and looking for your next food “fix,” you may not even realize it—but you’re hooked. In Sugar Savvy, High Voltage will teach you how to reset your taste buds and attitude so you can take control of food.

Sugar Savvy includes a complete 6-week eating and exercise plan, easy-to-assemble Power Meal Formulas, more than 40 simple Power Meals and Snacks, moving affirmations that move your body and spirit, inspirational stories and advice from the 17 Sugar Savvy Sisters who tried our program (every single one of them lost weight), and much more.
